Transforming Animal Welfare Operations with a Unified Digital Platform
Managing high rescue volumes, medical cases, and adoption requests became difficult with manual, disconnected workflows. Medy aan Pet OS unified clinical care, shelter operations, and governance, enabling faster coordination and scalable management.
Overview
A government supported Animal Welfare Centre managed a high and continuous flow of rescues, medical cases, and adoption requests. With animals entering through municipal catchers, rescue teams, public walk ins, and emergency calls, maintaining accurate records and coordinated workflows became increasingly challenging. Manual documentation slowed down operations, reduced visibility across departments, and limited the Centre’s ability to scale. To strengthen clinical care, shelter management, adoption processes, and operational governance, the Centre implemented Medyaan Pet OS as its unified digital platform.

The Challenge
Intake and movement tracking relied on paper logs, making it difficult to trace an animal’s journey across isolation, treatment, foster care, and adoption units, creating gaps in visibility and accountability across departments. Clinical documentation for treatments, vaccinations, procedures, and daily notes lacked a standardized digital format, resulting in incomplete histories and inconsistent updates. Room and space allocation was unstructured, causing overcrowding in some units and poor utilization in others.
Adoption workflows were delayed because listings, candidate screening, documentation, and follow-up processes were handled manually. Inventory operations for medicines, consumables, food, and medical supplies depended on manual checks, making it difficult to track stock consumption, expiry dates, and replenishment needs accurately. Administrative oversight was limited because reporting depended on manual consolidation, and leadership lacked real-time dashboards.
The Solution
The Centre digitized the entire intake process, enabling animal registration with photos, medical condition, rescue details, and immediate room assignment. Veterinarians recorded clinical notes, treatments, procedures, vaccinations, and prescriptions digitally using structured templates, with e-prescriptions and automated discharge summaries. Shelter teams gained real-time visibility of occupancy, quarantine status, kennel availability, and movement readiness.
Adoption profiles, documentation, applications, follow-ups, and approvals were digitized and linked to marketplace listings, events, and campaigns. Stock operations including GRN, issues, transfers, and consumption were centrally tracked with real-time expiry alerts, while POS, invoices, payments, and AR ensured accurate financial operations. Dashboards, audit trails, activity logs, and reporting tools provided leadership with complete operational visibility.
